MyPitch scores big

Product & start-up launch

A good beginning is half the battle. So when start-up MyPitch was ready to launch its soccer community app, it wanted to score big. Both on the field and in the press. MyPitch collects personal and club statistics during football matches via its 180° smart camera to give players and coaches insight into their performance. As with the well-known sports app Strava, MyPitch users can track their performance and follow their friends (or even competitors).

Persuade relevant media

On the opening weekend of the regional football season, MyPitch launched its app via a well-designed press release accompanied by quality photos. We didn't stop there and reached out to our network of journalists to set up more in-depth interviews and video reports.

Results?

An overwhelming number of publications followed, ranging from a full-page article in the weekend edition of Het Nieuwsblad, an online news article at VRT NWS and a radio interview at Radio 2. Video reports were also available on VTM and Focus WTV. Regionally, for example, you read about it in the West-Flanders newspaper and articles also appeared in the business and trade press, including in Trends and Data News.

“We couldn't have asked for a better start. We received media attention from all corners of the playing field, which proved to be perfect for scoring new players and clubs that joined MyPitch. In addition, we came into contact with interesting partners to further improve our app and scale our community to other parts of the country and even abroad,” says Jim Bogaert, co-founder and CEO of MyPitch.
